GOD IS ALL WE NEED
By Synthia Esther
She was poor, trying to survive on meager income while supporting three children. Her husband had left her and their children, many years prior. Alone, abandoned, and thought forgotten, she prayed to Jesus Christ to help her. Not one to believe in miracles for her life had been so sorrowful, she sought answers to her plight in an uncommon way. By faith, in a God she had become aware of by reading a tract left behind by an unknown person in an inconspicuous place.
She read the little story tract that detailed in brief, the life of Jesus Christ, the one who died for all humanities sins, as a lamb of sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary - John 3:16-17. Her heart leaned to trust in this Friend upon whom she read she could depend. Feeling strength from this witness and testimony she contacted a local church, pastor and church family, who gave her a Bible, that encouraged her in the faith. In due time she became stronger, by reading God's word.
Though her situation remained the same, she knew the Son of the Living God, was with her, and would see her through. Each day was a test of faith, however, she always had just enough to see her family through.
God provides when all else fails, she recounts in earnest measure. So it was, and so it is, as each of us learns to depend on Jesus, no matter our trail or circumstance. He is a God upon whom we can depend. A worthy Father, Savior, and Friend.
A PRAYER IN TIME OF NEED
Dear Holy Father,
I thank you God, for your grace, mercy, and love.
I seek you while you may be found, ever learning on your words, tried and true.
You are a fountain of life to the weary. Turning those who trust in you, ever far from the snares of death (Proverbs 13:14).
I have learned to trust in you, for you never fail to make my crooked paths straight (Proverbs 3:6).
I thank you, Holy Father, for deliverance from the snare of the fowler (Psalm 124).
I praise your name, and ever seek to testify of your providence.
Amen.
