JESUS CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

THE BIRTH OF CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD - THE REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON OF CHRISTMAS

By Synthia Esther

As a child, Christmas was always a special time of year.  Raised by Christians parents, this Holy season was not just about giving and receiving new presents.  I knew it was all about "Jesus" and the day we celebrated His birthday.  Born in a manger, as an innocent baby, He came into our world for a God divine purpose and plan.  In order that we might receive the free gift of salvation, Jesus grew up to became sin's sacrifice dying on Calvary's Cross, providing His shed blood as atonement for our sins.  On the third day of his death, he arose from the dead by the Zoe (life) power of God Himself.

Because He lives, we too share in eternal life when we accept Him into our heart as our Lord and Savior seeking forgiveness of our sins (John 3:16-17).  Christmas is the celebration of His birth!  A celebration each and very Christian rejoices in!

O CHRISTMAS CHRIST

Blessed art thou, O Christmas Christ,

that Thy cradle was so low that Shepherds,

poorest and simplest of all earthly folk,

could yet kneel beside it,

and look level-eyed into the face of God.

Blessed art Thou,

that Thy cradle was so high that the Magi,

lords of learning and wealth,

could yet come to it by a Star's pathway,

to hazard their wisdom's store into Thy Baby hands.

Blessed art Thou that,

being grown to manhood, and being a carpenter,

Thou didst fashion a Christmas altar, like unto Thy cradle,

so that all simplicity and wisdom,

all poverty and wealth,

all righteousness and penitence for sin,

might find sanctuary there.

Be this our Christmas haste, O Christmas Christ,

to seek that altar, and,

at this season of Thy birth,

unafraid of the Time's complaint,

may we be found kneeling still.
